Bahram Hajou

The artist Bahram Hajou was born in Deron on the Tigris River in 1952 and studied art at the Fine Arts Academy in Baghdad between 1970 and 1972. He also studied archaeology and fine arts in Germany, where he has lived and worked since the 1980s. In his painting, artist Hajou blends man, earth, home and his assets by formulating an expression that promotes a system of colour and shape that varies in grades and values, But it is compatible with its contents, which, despite his long alienation, he continues to bring from his first visual memory, which has formed in his area on the shores of Tigris and Euphrates, contents he recovers with passion and love. and expressed in simplified and spontaneous visual language, which is in the majority of its work not to shut down the human body, but to turn it into an integral part of the land planted on it. whether through the line (drawing) or through the color. Hajou was taken on the subject of isolated, bent, lonely, trapped, frightened human and the anomalous nature. To express these cases, it uses a disoriented visual language, lost between diagnosis and abstraction, so that it does not dwarf in direct reality language, and is not lost in the scenes of cold abstraction, which increases its expressive capabilities, and its formative characteristics, which extend more than a bridge to the wishful expression.
