Bassem Dahdouh

 Bassem Dahdouh was born in Damascus in 1964, was taught at the Adham Ismail institute, and graduated from the Photography Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Damascus University. He received his doctorate from the Egyptian University of Helwan in 1999, then taught and became dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Arab International University in Syria. In the early years of his artistic career, Dahdouh tended to work abstraction in advance the scenes of an expressionist silent nature on the canvas, nature's silent works demonstrate the richness of brush strokes and the thinness of the colors used. Then he felt compelled to change the content of his work, so as to reflect the human suffering surrounding it, and he set out to paint people using his famous abstract style.
